HU: Inflationsdruck verstärkt (14.11.2006 09:31 Uhr)
Das Wachstum des ungarischen Bruttoinlandsprodukts hat sich im dritten Quartal auf 3,6% nach zuletzt 3,8% in der Jahresrate abgeschwächt. Die Konsensschätzung war von einem Anstieg um 4,1% ausgegangen. Nach Angaben von Marktbeobachtern hat sich das jüngste Sparpaket der Regierung nachteilig auf die Konsumausgaben ausgewirkt. Derweil sind die ungarischen Verbraucherpreise im Oktober um 6,3% in der Jahresrate gestiegen.

Die Konsensschätzung hatte auf +6.4% gelautet. Der Vergleichswert des Vormonats liegt bei +5,9%. EUR/HUF hat auf die Daten mit Kursverlusten reagiert und notiert gegen 9:30 Uhr CET bei 258,88. Auf die nächsten Widerstände trifft das Währungspaar bei 262,70 und 263,00. Die nächsten Unterstützungen lassen sich bei 258,80 und 258,50 lokalisieren. (sk/FXdirekt)

MUMBAI, Nov 13 (Reuters) - The Indian rupee extended its losses into a second session on Monday to end at a 2-week closing low against the dollar after dealers said the central bank had again intervened in the market.

The partially convertible rupee <INR=D3> finished at 44.9825/99 against the dollar, down 0.6 percent on the day and 1.4 percent off an eight-month high of 44.35 hit on Friday. It was the weakest close since Oct. 31, when it ended at 45.01/02.

"There was sustained central bank intervention which drove the rupee down to 45 against the dollar," said the chief trader at an private sector Indian bank. "The intervention saw importers rushing to cover their positions."


The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was suspected of intervening on Friday when the rupee fell sharply from its high. Central bank chief Yaga Venugopal Reddy said on Friday the RBI monitored exchange rate volatility and intervened when necessary.

The RBI does not have an explicit target or range for the rupee, but says it intervenes to smooth volatility and prevent the currency from straying too far from what it considers fair value.

Australia's central bank warns of further interest rate hikes
Australia's central bank has warned that further interest rate hikes might be needed to bring inflationary pressures under control even though the current drought will cut economic growth.
The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), which has already hiked rates by 25 basis points three times this year to a six-year high of 6.25 percent, made the predictions in a regular quarterly statement
In the short-term, the RBA said gross domestic product (GDP) growth would be significantly affected by the drought.

Fazit: Die Notenbank dürfte nun, da das Wirtschaftswachstum lahmt und die Inflation sinkt, von weiteren Zinserhöhungen Abstand nehmen. Der eingetrübte Wirtschaftsausblick in Chile, die fehlende Zinsfantasie sowie die Erwartung, dass die ganz große Boomphase bei den Rohstoffen und somit auch beim Kupferpreis vorbei ist, sprechen in naher Zukunft für schwächere Notierungen des Peso im Vergleich zum USD. USD/CLP notiert aktuell knapp oberhalb des starken Unterstützungsbereiches von 524,00 und hat Luft bis zum Jahreshoch an der 550er-Marke. Erste Etappenziele hierbei sind die 529,20 sowie die 538,70. Erst ein Unterschreiten der 511,45 würde dieses Szenario neutralisieren.
