China committed to trial greater yuan convertibility in Tianjin - mayor
BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China remains committed to trial greater yuan convertibility under the capital account in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, the city's mayor, Dai Xianglong, said.
Dai told a forum in Hebei province's Xianghe that the city was progressing the plan after receiving State Administration of Foreign Exchange approval to conduct experimental reforms of the foreign exchange mechanism.
The state council approved a plan to allow reforms in a limited area, but no timeframe has been given for its implementation.
