the pivot points move according to the time frame of the chart
not sure whats going on
e.g.

UK100 cash Wed 8/10/2008
One minute chart pivot point = 4524
Five minute chart pivot point = 4532
and on and on thru the time frames
Daily chart pivot = 4557
The pivot should be the same on all time frames for todays chart
So as far as I can see the new chart pivots are NOT the same as the old
chart pivots
This new package is a mess

New Charting in Marketmaker: Desktop
Dear Client
From Thursday 2nd until Tuesday 7th October 2008, CMC Markets will be rolling out the first phase of our new charting package for Marketmaker: Desktop, a bespoke system that has been designed to allow you to easily draw accurate and helpful charts.
In this first release, you'll get the core charting functionality with a range of indicators, with more advanced charts and technical analysis tools to come in the near future. We have made this decision to move away from a third-party provider to give us full control over the development of our charts and respond more quickly to the needs of our clients. We look forward to receiving your feedback and improving your trading experience.
The first thing you'll notice is that we've changed the layout of the chart window, to give you better control over your charts.
We've also added more functionality, including:
New Indicators
New indicator options
Action Buttons which let you interact with Marketmaker: Desktop
Using the new charts
You won't have to do anything to access the new charts as they will simply replace the existing ones and can be opened in exactly the same way. Any charts you have saved in a Marketmaker: Desktop layout will still be there, they'll just be the new versions*.

Other Changes
We've made a few more changes to the new charting:
-We have removed back-testing and the custom indicators
-The background colour of the charts cannot be changed
-The chart data cannot display the "All Data" option or a "3 hour" tick frequency

Sir, I hope that you are observing the fall out from the chart 'down' grade.

There has been no acknowledgement that this has been a flop and upset many of your clients; no apology to the major inconvenience caused.

I would point out that Lehman's 150+ year history ended quickly and unceremoniously, 20 years is not very long in corporate terms. Failure to respond and address genuine customer concerns is very bad business practice.

It saddens me to put on hold further dealings with CMC after 8+ yaers of on the whole good service, but until this charting issue is recognised and dealt with in a satisfactory manner I no longer am prepared to continue doing business with your company.

Unless they rollback to the original charts they have just downgraded from, I see no reason why any technical trader would want to bother doing any business with this company. This is what happens when a business starts to get to big for it's boots, it's all about greed and cost cutting, not caring one bit about the customers who are actually creating its business in the first place.

Does Peter Cruddas care? I doubt it.

The only way he would care is if it affected his own pocket. If he knew about this charting fiasco, i will say shame on him, if not and was ill advised, I would say to him, fire the clown who created this mess as you're just on the start of a slippery slope down hill, this business will fail as we the customers don't appreciate being mistreated like this.

Hello everyone,

In response to the many questions and concerns we have received about the new charting package, we are compiling a set of FAQs for your reference.
We will be addressing these FAQs in order of priority and you will start to see them posted today.
I hope they will answer many of your queries.

Just finally closed the old trading platform and tried the new one, what a bag of s***. Whoever the clown was that bought this in should be fired, I hope you lose at least 50% of your business, oh, the CMC rep I spoke to this morning was a liar in his description of this platform, nice bunch of people? I knew CMC markets when the were called Deal4Free, which traders called them Steal4Free, well, it looks like they are back up to their tricks again, this time a name change will not wash.

Can we please have the person responsible for this wonderful peice of customer awareness come on here and explain why all theseb "improvements " are neccessary ??
I have been here for 4 years and IMHO CMC had the best charts around, the features were perfect for a technical trader like myself,this made up for some of the other "aspects" of their trading platfom.
I for one will be closing my account unless we get back to where we were.

What on earth are CMC playing at with this change. Having worked for 20 years in the Human Computer interface field, this change is an abortion, and they should roll it back. Making changes like this without any idea of the implications ruins peoples lives by eliminating their ability to make a living. Imagine going into work one day and all the tools that you used to do your job with having been taken away, and some joker trying to tell you it was better. The old platform was just fine, why "fix" it with a poor and unuseable alternative. Whoever is responsible for product management at CMC wants firing. This change must be rolled back.

The charts are slower, the buttons hidden unless you mouse over, the previously coloured buttons that were obvious are now greys and virtually invisible.

Charts cannot be dragged into the future. Lines and other drawings cannot be saved, the custom indicator programming language has gone!!!!!, indicators can not be overlayed!!, the code is flakey and does not draw correctly, Drawings that it used to be able to drag about the screen, now have to be edited via a dialog box.

I hardly know where to begin with how unhappy I am with this change. Does the whole world have to be dummed down to the lowest common denominator? The old platform was easier to use and did more too, it was faster, icons easier to understand, and it worked, more intuitive and easier to use! I had it all nicely set up with custom indicators and now all that has just gone, and CMC delude themselves that this is progress. They are ruining my lively hood. I am banging my keys I am so angry about this.

Why do I have to be forced to update? I want my old charts back. It worked, and it didn't need fixing. The new platform does less and in a way that is also harder to use.

We are working with the creators of this new charting engine to create a number of new options for Marketmaker : Desktop charts, including improved trading interaction, comparison charts and cross-platform integration, as well as investigating the functionality that has been lost in this first release. We are finalising a timescale for these improvements and will let you know as soon as we can do so, without making false promises.
