The European Commission is scheduled to decide the date
by when Italy must get its deficit-to-GDP ratio back into
line. Italy is pushing for a lenient date in 2008.

Producer prices are forecast to have risen 0.1 percent in
May from April compared with 0.2 percent in April from
March.

Consumer credit is forecast to stand at 1.6 billion
pounds in May compared with 1.3 billion in April, while

Commerce Department releases its final estimate of
first-quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth.
Economists in a Reuters survey forecast a median 3.7
percent annualized pace of growth compared with a 3.5

Federal Open Market Committee begins 2-day meeting on
interest rate policy.
2330 - JAPAN PMI FOR JUNE, Tokyo
The Purchasing Managers Index, which gives an early
snapshot of trends in manufacturing activity,
came in at 53.5 in May. It was above 50 for the 24th
month in a row, indicating that factory activity in Japan
had expanded for 24 months.
